It's a New Day

ooh I forgot, there was something I wanted to bring up about AP US.

so Sorey brought up the discussion about whether "one nation, under God" should be included in the Pledge of Allegiance. It was surprising how many people said it should. And I was ready to hit someone everytime someone said "But it's been in the Pledge for so long..." I finally shot my hand up after someone said "But it's been in the Pledge forever..." but Sorey was all "Yeah, a whole 50 years," for me. And then the class was all "WHAT?! OMGGG ITS ONLI BEN N DA PLEJ 50 YRS OMGGG!!!11!!" and he explained how they added it back when Russia was a communist country and everyone was fearful of the "commies" and they had no specific religion and didn't believe in god or whatever [something like that] and America, wanting to be as anti-commie as possible, added the "one nation, under God", so the US could be all "hey look, we're a nation of God! see! we're good! no communists here!" And I'm proud that I already knew all that crap because of LJ communities. checking my friends page on LJ rather than doing hw is soooooo not a waste of my time.

"I don't think they should take it out." "Well, why not?" "...well, it's already in there..." "..." "It'd be too much trouble to take it out..." x___x if they could put it in 50 years ago, I'm sure they could take it right back out now.

sigh.

Bush: I know how hard it is [for those fighting in Iraq]. I've read the reports. I've watched the war on television.

Lehrer: [something about what he thinks will happen if Kerry becomes present, in regards to a certain area-as in, not just in general]
Bush: Well, I don't think that's going to happen, because I am confident that I will win.

...well that's nice for you, and all, but that wasn't the question.

geez. How anyone can watch him speak and still want to vote for him completely confounds me. Bush was like a broken record the entire time. He seemed as if he didn't know how to debate [cutting into when Lehrer was talking, asking "can I say something", etc.]. Sounded like he was just reiterating whatever someone had already told him. geez.

those quotes are paraphrased because my memory is horrible and I can't remember the exact wording, but that was the gist of what he said.

oh, and after the debate, I found myself becoming more pro-Kerry than just anti-Bush, if you know what I mean. Like, he wasn't just a "anybody but Bush" to me.

woosh I'm tired.

Science: got quizzes back. I got a... what was it? 77. That's a C+, right? My grade in the class is a 87.4. eh. All right, but not as good as I'd like. Need to start studying a lot more. though asdflk;j geez. On this one part, you were supposed to arrange the elements in order of atomic radius, smallest to largest, and I did the first 2 right, but then somehow... I did the last 3 correctly, like I figured out which was smallest and which was largest, but somehow for the last 3 I put them from largest to smallest. no fucking clue why I did that x_x that, and I was stupid and didn't check to see if these 2 questions, the bonds were covalent or ionic, and I just did them ionic. bah. stupid nonthinking. If I had just actually used my brain, I would have a 35/39, which is a 89.7 which is like an A-. geez. I need to not be stupid. uhh we did a lab. It was stupid, but at least we don't have to write a lab report on it. whoo. We'll have one next week though, he said x_x geh. oh and on the board it said that science fair proposals are due next Friday. a;sldfkjalksfjdihatesciencefairasfkjalksjfd;laksjdf;lkjaf

Office Hours: Sectionals. Whatever. Played music and such.

AP US: got our tests back. Did just about as good as I thought I would: a 77. So yeah. Not as well as I would've wanted, but hey, at least I passed, right? Plus, my grade in the class curved is 137/152 which is the absolute lowest score you can have and still have an A-. skills. need to study more for the next test, though. Quiz Tuesday, but no multiple choice! 20 fill in and a short answer or two. So that should go all right. It's on the government and such, so it won't be too bad, just need to remember what each branch does and how they're organized and all that fun stuff. uh we took notes! surprise. and we did something with cases and decided if the law was unconstituntional or if it should be upheld.

Wind Ensemble: concert music next Thursday! ahhhhh can't wait.

;aljsfd so tired x_______x

uhhh presidential debate sort of thing tonight. going to watch, provided I... remember. And figure out when it's on.

I made 3 icons and I'm really proud of 2 of them, so I'm going to post them >:O so there!

First one I'm kind of meh about, but I like the other two >:O skateboarding! ...obviously. Because it's not like I'm obsessed enough as it is.

a;lsdkfj I want a new layout at my LJ. I've had that one since like August and I'm really sick of it and I've been sick of it for weeks but I have no clue what to make a new one of. bahhh. I have subjects I could do them of [...yes more skateboarding. shutup x___X] but I have no inspiration for how it would actually look and what colors I would use. eck. I'll muse about it next time I have downtime in class. No started fics to finish, so when I finish early on a test or we just have nothing to do, I need something to occupy myself instead of staring blankly at my desk. so yes. plan LJ layout. I need to remember that.

geez I'm tired. thankyousofuckingmuch for the hour later wakeup tomorrow. You wouldn't think an hour would make such of a difference, but it really does.

a;lksfjlakjfd dawson!!! [...not the math teacher. 'cause that would be kind of creepy] a;lskdjf;lkj :)

French: Test! Did well, I think. Only a few I was unsure of. Don't know why so many people were saying it was hard after we finished. geez, all I did was read through the section [...when I first typed that I said "book" rather than "section", and that would be really scary. "Oh yeah, all I did was read through the entire French book in 15 minutes!"] last night at like 10:45 and read through it again this morning before school starts 'cause I get there like half an hour early. I think Raitt is a much better teacher than De Berry, though, just because... I find myself actually remembering the information a lot better than I did last year. She like... teaches in a way that makes me actually remember the info. Good for this year, but not so good for French 4 and AP French. -_-

Office Hours: uhh oh yes! Went to Zi's English class with Zi and Emma and saw... Monty Python and the Holy Grail [? I believe that's the title? bad memory x____x]. Quite amusing. I want to see the rest, but they're watching more tomorrow [finishing it? don't know] and I have a sax sectional x_x bah. I think I recognized his English teacher, though; she looks like the mom of this girl from elementary school in APAAS, but then her last name is different. But then again, she could just be using her maiden name, or she could've divorced her husband, or whatever, so maybe it is the same person. I don't know.

English: hm. First weeeeeee I don't remember. Went over Smith and Bradford a little [though not really over the assignment, more an argument over who was the better leader for like 15 minutes] and over the Smoke Signals questions and oh read through the Jonathan Edwards sermon thing that's all "you suck and are going to hell so be a better person or your flesh will rot and you'll suffer for all eternity and all that fun crap >:O". mm think that's it. ;alsfljk essays back next Wednesday, probably. bahhh.

Algebra 2: did stupid group stuff for the beginning and then went through a new lesson and such. Like a normal day, but... slightly longer.

Marching Band: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! als;kdf;kj Mr. Dawson came back to help us with the show today. ahhh I don't think I realized how much I missed him. This is like the first day I came back from marching band practice being like... uplifted and happy. And he's coming every two weeks! wheeeeeeee :D when he was there, I felt myself just.. becoming better. Like he'd talk about backwards marching and then we'd do the thing and I could feel my backwards marching getting better. ahhh.

tired though. But yay for Wednesday nights! No homework! wheee.

Tuesday, September 28, 2004

French: uhhhh. Didn't do too much. Review mostly. Test tomorrow >:O

Science: er. We copied down the properties of water and boring stuff like that. geez science it seems like we do nothing ever but it always takes forever. I studied for History for a little bit.

English: uhh. Myths and finishing of Smoke Signals. gah. I didn't mind watching the movie, but I don't want to have to answer questions on it x__x oh well. Crappy English hw tonight x___x I don't want to have to type up a paragraph on... whatever it is we have to type a paragraph on either. gah.

AP US: x_________x No short answer section this time. You'd think this would be a good thing. al;skdjfkj stupid multiple choice. I'd prefer if it was all short answer! I got a B+ on short answer last time, and a B- on multiple choice. I counted up the ones I was unsure of, and it was 15/30. Even if I get half of those right, that's still like... bad. alkjfdlkj It's not a good thing that nearly every single test/quiz I've taken this year so far, I've always had this feeling that I should have studied more the night before. I've never truly felt prepared for a quiz/test. I need to like bottle up this feeling and unleash it upon myself everytime I do a half-assed job of studying when I should be studying a lot more.

Algebra 2: er... stuff. Mathy stuff. wooo.

Wind Ensemble: Musicy stuff. [gasp!] ...yeah.

geeeeeez I'm tired. -_____- I want sleep. But I still have hw to do. bah.

al;skjfk I still miss the Gravity Games goddamnit. Nothing more to look forward to at the end of everyday. Now it's like "No no keep going, because when you get home, you get to do 500000 hours of hw and then... uh... go to sleep. And then wake up. And do it all over again. Whooo!"

spectrumming this weekend goddamnit >:O it's been like 3 weeks! I want the new Green Day and the new The Used >:O

Monday, September 27, 2004

French: uhhh I dunno. Got score of quizzes we've taken in class. I have a 91 average right now. Got our essays back. I got a 84 because I didn't put a conclusion. She said the rest was very good, though. So next time I won't be an idiot and I'll put a conclusion and I'll get a better grade. Test on Wednesday. bah.

Science: I don't remember. It was a boring period. I think we watched a video. blah.

English: presented my myth. Didn't go too bad. I get all nervous, though, when I'm talking in front of people, so I was like short of breath the entire time I was up there. Ah but I got a 25/25 so it's all good. Watched more Smoke Signals. I don't mind the movie, but I don't want to have to answer the questions x_x

AP US: Took notes. blah. Test tomorrow. Should study just a bit more than I did last time. Brought my book home! wheee.

Algebra 2: Tests back. Got a 94. w00t >:O One of the mistakes I made was really stpuid and was due to me not reading the question well enough x_x I hate it when I do that. Whatever, that one was only 1 point off. mm not much else.

Wind Ensemble: played music >:O Can't wait till we start concert music x_X

Marching Band: There are some freshmen [and probably upperclassmen too somewhere, but I've only noticed it from freshmen for the most part] that need to learn that "dress center dress" does not mean drop your horn down and look all around and relax and then jump into your file/rank in place after they call "ready front". -______-

...ok this felt like a good day when I was going through it, but I'm fucking tired and exhausted now and I just want it to be the weekend again.

I miss the Gravity Games. Even with the crap coverage.

Oh, and also? My Monday's fucking suck. Thank god I'm on tenor, or they'd suck even more, because I'd have a clarinet sectional in addition to Wind Ensemble followed by marching band followed by tenor lesson.

geez. I was ready for this week to be over after 2nd period today x___x

Stolen from Jackie >:O Long list of stuff is at her blog.

Elm Tree (Noble-mindedness) -- pleasant shape, tasteful clothes [...I think. We'll they're not like... un non dis the opposite of tasteful. Tshirt and jeans! Tasteful, right?], modest demands [...I don't really get this one.], tends not to forgive mistakes [at least that was very true of me when I was younger. I'd like to think I'm getting better at that. Or at least, I'm getting over it more quickly. At least, I hope. Whatever, I'm working on it.], cheerful [...I'm not exactly mopey dopey all the time, but I wouldn't say I'm cheerful], likes to lead but not to obey [...I'm like... neither leader nor follower], honest and faithful partner [...like in what sense? I'm pretty honest, I guess, and I'm pretty faithful. What sort of partner? Like... life partner or partner in project or what? geez stop being all vague and such], likes making decisions for others [...like what? AH BE SPECIFIC x_x], noble-minded [...uhh...?], generous [heh. Not really. Except I do end up giving people food a lot, and I like giving people presents I know they'd like... so I guess maybe I am?], good sense of humor [I should think so? I guess.], practical [uhhh it depends. Well when I'm not practical, I'm usually not being serious. I don't know. I think I'm practical].

mm tell me if you disagree >:O

oooh I have finished the myth of death >:O Once I got an idea for it, it really wasn't that bad. And I figured out props! I found a bunch of animals in my beanie baby collection [heh, I bought like one every weekend from when I was like in 4th-6th grade, because I wasn't allowed to stay home alone as much, at least when I was more in like 4th grade, and so I'd go with my mom to the UCI Marketplace every Saturday and you don't care about this all but that's ok, and so I'd get a beanie baby at Whale of a Tale every weekend for like... years]. So yeah. I'll just wave them around when they're speaking or whatever. I just need to edit the myth and add some more descriptive language, and then I'm done :) I was kind of dreading the assignment, but like... once I got an idea for it, it wasn't hard to write at all. That's pretty much how I am with like fanfics... not dreading it, but I'll want to write but if I don't have any ideas, it's just gack and die. But if I know what I'm going to write, it's ok.

Hm. I need to work on that fic I wrote in AP US last week. I never wrote that I/M fic, did I? It's always been in the back of my mind, but I never had a good oppurtunity to. Maybe I will write it sometime soon. uhhhh.

;laksjdflkjaf I miss Gravity Games. Even if the coverage was crap.

a;lksdfjk headache power >:O

1. Rune Glifberg - 89.4
2. Andy Macdonald - 87.6
3. Pierre-Luc Gagnon - 86.8
4. Bucky Lasek - 86.0
5. Lincoln Ueda - 85.2
6. Tas Pappas - 84.8
7. Chris Gentry - 84.8
8. Bob Burnquist - 83.0
9. Rodrigo Menezes - 80.8
10. Rob Lorifice - 80.2

There were actually 20 competitors. How this worked, was there were 10 competitors on the first day and they all went, went through all three runs, and got a final score. Then the second day, there were 10 more competitors, and they all went through all their runs and got a final score. Then they just placed everyone according to their ranks. I don't really like this form of the event, but I'll rant more about that later when I rant about OLN's crappy coverage.

Rob Lorifice: He had the 2nd highest score of the first heat. He's only 16, and he was actually pretty impressive. Every single person the first heat crashed because of the wind [like, they couldn't freaking do kickflips at all, because whenever they did, the wind would blow away the board]. He actually managed to stay on his board for a respectable amount of time. It'll be interesting to watch where he goes.

Rodrigo Menezes: The highest score of the first heat, and he still ended up lower than every single person of the second heat except two people [don't know who those people are, because the official site won't freaking tell me >:O goddamn OLN. Oh no, wait. One of them has to be Sandro Dias. Don't know about the other]. He was pretty impressive as well, compared to the rest of the people of the first heat. No match to the second heat, though.

Chris Gentry, Tas Pappas, Lincoln Ueda: geez. Didn't show a single one of their runs >:O goddamn OLN.

Bucky Lasek: ahhhh. His last run was freaking like whoa, but then when he was doing a kickflip, the board flew away from him x___x ahhhh. He's just so amazing, though. He's always like... a;fldj so perfect. I love seeing him skate.

Pierre-Luc Gagnon: Geez, he got bronze and the still only showed like 1 of his runs. Don't know what to say about him. He's always just flawless. Really great rider.

Andy Macdonald: He's always really great as well. Not as consistent as PLG, but fun to watch.

Rune Glifberg: I actually don't think his first run was THAT much better than Andy's or PLG's. But whatever, what do I know. He's a good skater, but I don't think he's that amazing. He got bronze at X Games, I believe. I don't dislike him, but I don't actively like him either.

Bob Burnquist: Ok. So his second run was totally better than a 83.0. The commentators were saying so too, they were all saying they thought it'd score a lot higher than that. >:O geez what can I say about Bob? If you read my blog like at all, you should've gathered that he's my favorite skateboarder. I just adore watching him skate. He's so innovative. And geez, a whole freaking entire section switch? That's insane. Nobody dpes that, not even Bucky Lasek. Tony Hawk never did anything like that. That's why they call him the switch master. That's really impressive. Like it might not look impressive because he's not doing huge 540's or whatever, but geez, switch is like... so freaking difficult, just riding up and down the ramp like that is difficult for even some of the best riders. Seriously. ;ksajdf ah. I just get so happy watching him. Really impressive, and so fun to watch. This year hasn't been a really great one for him, but I'm looking forward to seeing him again next year. a;lksdf and geez. Even after he falls, he's always smiling. He'll crash and burn and twist his ankle and STILL be smiling after the run. gah. Very admirable. Anyways, he was obviously my favorite for the event, while Bucky was my favorite for silver.

6. Allan Cooke - 86.20
7. Dave Dillewaard - 85.80
8. Scott Cranmer - 85.00
9. Van Homan - 84.60
10. Michael Aitken - 84.40

Don't let the results fool you. There were actually 20 competitors, but for some reason, they've only listed the top 10.

Michael Aitken: He was one of the first competitors, and I remember him being pretty good. I believe he fell, though, which is why he didn't get as great of a score.

Allan Cooke: I remember him from X Games! And from the Gravity Files. I really like him, he's a great rider. He did have a mistake or two, though, which is why his score is lower. Still, he was good.

Ryan Guettler: He got like... 3rd at X Games I believe. He's the one who had the cool piercing under his lip! :) He's cool. Great rider. Fun to watch him ride.

Tom Haugen: I remember thinking that he was like... reeeally good. Forget why. But he was. Fun to watch :)

Steven McCann: Ryan and he's best runs tied, but Ryan's second run score was better than Steven's second run score, so Ryan was put ahead of him. Anyways, he's a really amazing rider, and I actually thought his second run was scored just a little low. He wasn't my favorite for the event, but I do like him a lot, and amazing to watch him, since he always has some amazingly huge trick.

Ryan Nyquist: ahhh poor Ryan. Fell at the same spot both runs. He was my favorite to win, of course. His two runs were still fucking amazing and geez, if he hadn't fallen at that one spot, his score and run would've been like whoaaa. geez. He's just so freaking impressive.

Morgan Wade: Didn't know anything about him since I don't think they showed him at X Games and in any case, he didn't score very well there. He's really enjoyable to watch, because he's clearly having so much fun on his bike. His first run was freaking amazing, and it definitely deserved that score. And he's pretty young, too, so I look forward to seeing where he goes. He's already really like whoa.

Brian Deegan: x___x fell in practice doing a backlfip. Couldn't compete. d;alkjf goddamnit. This year has been so disappointing for him. He better be like whoaaa next year or I'll be forced to hit him >:O

Dustin Miller: omg I remember him from X Games 2003! I remember he was like the first person to go for FMX and when they announced his name I was all "Hey it's Dustin! Annie'll like him," 'cause she was all whoa about the power ranger [right?] Dustin, and then it was right after we had seen Grind and I was all "heeey he has the same name as Adam Brody's character in Grind!" Yeah. He was cool, though.

Kenny Bartram: I don't know why, but I just really dislike him. I remember really disliking him after hearing him say something about how the backflip had ruined the sport of FMX. But I disliked him before that. I don't know. He was one of the better riders they showed, though, and definitely one of the more interesting ones.

Beau Bamburg: forget why, but I remember thinking he was really good.

Ronnie Faisst: Metal Mullisha! Not a bad run at all.

Jeremy Stenberg: One of the more impressive riders. He had like p927-2860082-968 backflip variations, and that one he pulled in his last run? God, what was it? It was something like... nac nac to heel clicker. I don't know. Verrryyy amazing. Oh, and the candybar backflip. First ever done at Gravity Games. Yeah, he definitely deserved his spot.

Nate Adams: geez. So many of the riders were just... boring, that by the time Nate was up, I was dying to watch him do his run. And I don't even like him that much. He seems more relaxed, and I think that definitely helped his run. He looked less robotic to me. Plus, he has like a million backflip variations AND the 360. There really was no contest here. I didn't even have a favorite, because I knew it'd be Nate hands down.

Travis Pastrana: wtf happened to him?! I tried to check his site, but then my computer froze and it was after I had written a thing about FMX and so I had to rewrite it all again and I was pissed so I don't want to check again, but geez. No explanation whatsoever, and I know he was slated to come >:O Not even a mention of him, except of past games! gahhh. I want to know why he wasn't there! a;sdkfj

Koji Kraft: Riding with a broken leg o____o geeeeez. He's very cool, and I can't wait to watch him when he's healthy.

Simon Tabron: I liked him because he's attempting to pull off back to back 900's and that's craaaazy. He's the only one in the field to even try a 900 anyways. And he can pull them, he's pulled something like 64. He had a pretty good run.

Kevin Robinson: He was pretty freaking impressive as well. I believe he was the one to try the double flair, which is insane. Didn't make it, but still. Awesome. He was fun to watch.

Chad Kagy: Ah I forget what he did. I just remember him being really awesome and impressive.

Jamie Bestwick: My favorite to win. He was craaazy amazing. So a;slfk wow. No wonder they were hyping him so much at X. Didn't see even a fraction of how awesome he is there. Really crazy.

Dave Mirra: ahhh injured so couldn't compete x___x he's always really fun to watch.

Don't really care as much about Skate Street, so this'll be really short. Well, that, and they only showed like 3 riders each run, and maybe 5 on the last, so I don't really know much about the other skaters.

Ryan Sheckler: Not as good of a year for him as last year was. Last year he was just... amazing. So flawless and so impressive. His first run I saw the Ryan Sheckler of last year emerge, but then he made a mistake, and... all downhill from there. I think the pressure's really getting to him, because he was a lot better last year. Hopefully he'll just... calm down a little and figure out how to deal with all the stress. He's a really great rider, and he hasn't been riding up this potential lately. At least he did better here than he did at X.

Andy Macdonald: heh. Only vert skater to also try skate street. He was actually pretty good. Amusing to watch him.

Greg Lutzka: I actually thought his last run was better than Rodil's best run. He's also pretty young [he looks like he's 16, but I think he might be a little older], like Ryan Sheckler. Fun to watch him.

Rodil Junior: I don't know. He just wasn't as entertaining to watch as some of the other riders. He sort of bugged me too. Never looked very excited. Always like "Yeah, whatever. I'm in first. Big whoop." His third run he started going more all out, and it started a lot better than his other runs, but then he fell. Still, that run was a lot better than his others, and I would've liked him more, I guess, if he had skated like that [minus the fall] on all his other runs.

9. Corey Bohan – 85.46
10. Rob Darden – 85.40
11. Dave Dillewaard – 85.33
12. Cory Nastazio – 84.93
13. Joey Marks – 84.26
14. Brian Foster – 84.06
15. Reuel Erickson – 84.06
16. Mike Aitken – 83.80
17. Scott Wirch – 83.00
18. Cameron White – 82.33
19. Fuzzy Hall – 81.93
20. Todd Walkowiak – [...wtf, they didn't give a score for him o__O]

Quick explanation, for Bike dirt, the format was different than the other events. Other events, it's best run counts, but for some reason here there were 4 runs, worst run was thrown away, and the best 3 were averaged together for the final score. It was actually kind of good, though, because it rewarded consistency and a variety tricks rather than getting lucky just once, but if you fucked up once, you still had a chance with your other runs.

Cory Nastazio: geeeez. He got into a car accident a little while ago and was in a coma for a few days and when he woke up he didn't remember anything and had to relearn how to walk and talk and everything all over again. He was told he should never ride again. He's either really inspiring or incredibly stupid. His first two runs were really impressive, I thought, and it was a shame he didn't land that last run.

Corey Bohan: He got like... first at X Games, I believe. Too bad he didn't do as well here. Don't think they showed much of him. I like him, though.

Allan Cooke: Said it before, but I really like Allan Cooke. Shame he didn't do so well. Hopefully he'll do better next year.

Ryan Guettler: ...yeah pretty much what I said for Corey Bohan and Allan Cooke. I really like him, and I hope he'll do better next year.

Stephen Murray: Very impressive rider. That last run... al;skf fucking CRAZY. He did a... geez I don't even remember what he did on the first jump. Something like a backflip tailwhip, but I think it was bigger than that. Then last jump he did a double backflip. Fucking insane. He and everyone else was going absolutely balistic after that run. Amazing.

Steven McCann: Another very impressive rider. I like him. He's an awesome rider. Plus, his 720's are dialled so freaking well. geez.

Ryan Nyquist: My favorite to win. Amazing runs, especially his first. And geez, then his last? He had already freaking won, but he went ahead and attemped a freaking 1080 on the last jump. A 1080! That's insane! And it was pretty close, too. They commentators were actually questioning if he shouldn't let go when he did, because it was obvious he'd land a bit low, but he could've actually made it. Next year, we're so going to see that. geeeez al;kdjfkjaf

Moto X Best Trick:
Results:
1. Nate Adams
2. Jeremy Stenberg

Mmkay so they don't have these results up on the site, and they didn't show very much of the event, but I did get to see this much. Not very much of a surprise. Nate did a 360, Jeremy did a one-handed backflip [though he was shaking his head afterwards, and the commentators were saying that didn't seem what he meant to do]. It was different than the X Games event. They had like 9 people in groups of 3 each and then narrowed them down to the best trick of each group until they were left with just Jeremy and Nate. I prefer the X Games format. It was really amusing, though, when they were coming back to the event, they were all "THE DESTROYER [Nate's nickname] VERSUS ...uh... Twitch [Jeremy's nickname]." Heh.

Skate Vert Best Trick:
Results:
1. Sandro Dias

al;ksjflkj goddamnit. They didn't even show the results on their site! a;lksdflkj ahhhh. I'm seriously writing an angry email to them >:O At the very least, they could show the freaking results. I suppose they might not put them in order like X does and just had a gold medalist, but STILL. They seem to be pretending the event didn't even exist x_x When they showed the event, it was seriously 1 minute of showing a few tricks [though so quickly you couldn't tell who was throwing what] and then Sandro throwing the 900 and telling us he won. Again. Really sick of him winning with the 900, though. I would think that new, original, difficult tricks would win over the 900, because the 900 isn't original, and yes it's incredibly difficult, but he's not the only one to have ever thrown it, and he's thrown it so much now that I just don't CARE anymore. Be more original >:O

mmkay, I think that's it. All in all, very disappointing, in terms of coverage and such. But I'll rant about that at another time :)

huh. Had very odd dreams last night.

First one it was like... this multi-level building, like... not as tall as a skyscraper, but that sort of idea, and it was in a city and I was on one of the levels and... it was kind of like a hospital/mental hospital but not, and I think it was like... that's what the people in charge told people it was, but it really wasn't, it was a place to like... contain people. And somehow I escaped [I don't really remember how, but it involved stealing this thing that was like... well ok if you had those hearing tests last Friday at school, it was like the thing with the button you pressed when you heard a sound, but like... no wire or anything was attached to it, and it belonged to one of the like.;.. "nurses" who was keeping me in and I pressed it and I don't remember what that did but it allowed me to exit the room and then I was able to go down the elevator and out the door.] And then I was like hurrying out of the place and I think I got kind of far but all of a sudden I saw this person kind of following me and then I realized they were from the building come to get me back and I started panicking and so to escape from them, I started flying [aaaawesome, I haven't flown in a dream in like... forever.] but somehow I was caught anyways [I forget how]. Then... the next thing I remember is I escaped again and this time with 3 other people [that, or they met me outside or something] and instead of leaving immediately, there was like... ok like the door out of the place, there was this sort of... nook to the side. Like it'd go out at the sides and there was this tiny place to stay and I figured no one would find us there since... when you escape you want to go as far as possible and so then this one guy in our group [I think he was my brother? o_O] went out and crossed the street to the right instead of going straight and then right like I had and no one was following him and then I think we were planning what to do next, but... then I woke up.

Then my next dream was kind of... all over the place. Not as... clear as this one. Ok so I was like in my house, but there was this... person/thing coming to get me and my parents [geez what's with all the dreams about people coming to get me?] and ohhh I remember why this dream was all woosh and weird. Because I kept getting really scared and like... opening my eyes to wake myself up but then as soon as I closed my eyes and fell asleep again, I returned to the dream. Yeah, that really sucked. But anyways, it was kind of... complicated. One time I was lying in my bed and the person/thing came into my room and I got really scared and woke myself up. Near the end he/it was chasing me around the house, like I think outside in the backyard and I tried to open this case to let the bear [I think it was a bear] in my backyard out but it wasn't there and I was all "oh shit oh shit oh shit" aaaaand... I don't remember much else. All I know is the dream involved me hiding and running away from him/it a lot.

...yeah. anyways. I'll blog this and then get on to the super mega Gravity Games post! It should have all the events in it, but if they don't have the results on gravitygames.com, then I might leave some events out and talk about them some other time. woosh

Ha! New layout! So there! >:O

uhhh This Layout: er I guess it's Bob and Bucky focused, but it's kind of all over the place. On the very left is Bob Burnquist and Bucky Lasek from the 2003 vert doubles event at X Games. Then to the right of that is a tiny picture of Andy MacDonald from the 2004 X Games skateboard vert event. Then is Bob Burnquist from the 2003 X Games skateboard vert event. Then Sandro Dias from the 2004 X Games skateboard vert event. The graphic between the two text bars is of Bob Burnquist and Bucky Lasek from the 2003 X Games skateboard vert doubles event after they won gold [coughBucky'sarmisaroundBobcough]. The last image at the most right part is of Bob Burnquist and Bucky Lasek from the 2003 X Games skateboard vert doubles event. Yeah. So they're not all even from the same year, the same event, or of the same people. I just kind of... grabbed some good pics from the vert doubles event from 2003 because... that was a good event x_x then I looked through the vert pics from 2003 and liked the Bob one I found. The Andy and Sandro pics were already on my computer and they just kind of fit with what I was making. uhhh don't really need to explain where I got the idea for this from. The idea for the like... layout of it... uhhh not sure either. Originally there wasn't going to be anything on top, just to the left, in between, and also a section on the right. And it was going to be red. But the red wasn't working, so I tried green and it functioned a lot better. Then I was going to have a section at right but I couldn't get that to fit in, so I took it off. then at the top I just... thought it'd look better if there was some stuff there. And voila! layout finished >:O uhhh and the little green stuff at the very right, I've seen that at other layouts and liked it, but it took me awhile to realize that it was just because they made their layout for 800x600 computer screens and mine's 1024x768, so the part at right showed up. Nevermind if you don't understand that. Still thought it looked cool, though, and I've wanted to do it for awhile, so I decided to add it here because I thought the right looked to empty how it was. Not sure if you'll be able tos ee what I'm talking about if you have 800x600 layout, though, but I think you should be able to.

yes. no one cares.

mmkay Gravity Games final night tonight! I believe it's just a highlights thing, though. Oh well, should be fun to see. Besides, it's begun to sunk in that there are no more events and I won't get anymore of this until next August [well, at the latest. Hopefully I'll be able to find more stuff like this next spring. Unfortunately, Gravity Games is the last major event of the season], so I've gotten all sad and stuff. So I want to be able to watch as much stuff like this as possible. I think I'm going to watch the uncut footage at expn again, the stuff I watched right after X Games was over. yes. again. x___x But it's been like... over a month, and it's good stuff. And I never saw more than the vert skate and best trick, and I had wanted to watch other events as well. So there.

mmkay. yes. uhhhhhhh. enjoy the layout >:O

mmkay. So I've been watching videos on expn.com of past X Games, and two things are clear:

1) They need to bring back Vert Doubles [I don't care if they have to sacrifice Big Air to do so, doubles is way better] because the duo of Bob Burnquist and Bucky Lasek is the best duo EVER [shut up about you and your Andy Macdonald and Tony Hawk. Killer B's yo >:O].

and 2) Bob's gold-medal run in 2001 of vert skate is one of the best runs in vert skateboarding history [and this is so not me being biased; I was watching from present to farther and farther back, and I heard commentators mentioning it in other games and they too said that it was one of the best runs ever so there >:O]. Like seriously. It's like... geez.

I like how every single year there was at least one "What are you doing?!" during one of Bob's runs/tricks/etc. He's just alksdjf craaaazy.

oh oh! I forgot! I had this coversation with my mom on the way home from school Friday:

Me: Oh I left the bass clarinet at school since I didn't want to take both the tenor and the bass clarinet home.
Mom: Ok. So you're playing it in class now?
Me: No, we had a chair test today, and so I took it on bass clarinet since that's what I auditioned for wind ensemble on and what I'll be playing for the rest of the year.
Mom: Oh. So, did you win?

...my mom doesn't really get... this stuff. I mean I know what she meant, but... did I win? O__o

a;lsdkkjfsldfkj;alsk new layout goddamnit >:O

I HATE OLN'S COVERAGE OF THE GRAVITY GAMES ALS;DKFJLAKSJF AHHHHH x_________X I'll rant about that later though.

Yesterday!

Uh football game. We actually won [gasp!]. Not that we played well or anything. I think they were just lucky. Uh then afterwards to Denny's! Annie didn't come till 11:15 x_X but got to see her for like... 15 min, which is still good.

uhhh nothing much else. Watched Gravity Games coverage from last night :) It was crap. They just did a like... summary thing of best trick of vert and all they said was that Sandro won with his freaking 900 AGAIN [so sick of that now, btw. It was cool the first 90000000 times, but geez... it's not so original anymore and maybe if he'd do some variations and he HASN'T and I guess I can't judge it against any other tricks because they didn't SHOW us anything else but GEEZ] and they, unlike the X Games, do not have full footage of all the events, including during the commercials and before each event even starts, so I can't see the best trick competition.

I want a new layout. Bob Burnquist focused most likely, since I saw like 2 runs of his the entire time and I wanted to see a lot more of him instead of wasting 2 hours on a bunch of BMX people who got like 24th place that I don't CARE about but as I said, I'll rant about that later :) yes. Bob Burnquist or vert skate focused of some sort. Soon >:O

a;sldf geez OLN sucks.

lalala

French: ahhh what did we do? French feels so long ago by the time I blog. Not much, I don't think.

Science: Quiz! I totally failed it :) I'm not exaggerating either. I added up the ones I'm pretty sure I got right, and it was like 21/35, which is a 58 :) And you can't BS or guess on a quiz like that. gah. I need to study more.

English: uhhh Hearing Tests! I didn't realize that we had started when the first one started and it was so freaking faint that I wasn't sure if I heard it, but I pressed like a second later anyways, and then it kept going and I realized it was started. woosh.

US History: uh we had that really annoying sub. gah. you know, the one with the curly orangeyblondey hair who has that kind of nasal voice and looks odd? yeah. She put on a video but we didn't have to take notes or anything, so I wrote a fic. But it's not like... eh. It's just an idea I've had for like a month but it's not very good and it's kind of a rough sketch. Not going to type it up and post it. Gonna wait and revise and such :)

Algebra 2: Test! This one went much better than my science quiz. Pretty easy, except for the one where she asked if theoretical probability and experimental probability are always the same, sometimes the same, or never the same and to explain. The answer was easy, it's obviously sometimes the same, but... explaining it was difficult x_x It's like... I know what it means... I just can't... convey my idea of it to someone else. I think I did well though.

Wind Ensemble: Chair test! I got 2nd. Pretty good for not really caring much. And for having a crappy reed, mouthpiece, and bass clarinet [though I switched with Andrew for the second half of it]. Geez it was scary when I got back to the band room, though, 'cause when I was putting together my saxophone, I kept hearing Andrew all over the room saying "First!" but I couldn't see him anywhere. It was like "First!" onetwothree "First!" onetwothree "First!" geez o_O

Away game against Woodbridge tonight! Hopefully seeing Annie afterwards? Denny's? Yes. uhhh tired. I wish it was next week, though, because Gravity Games tonight and the game cuts right through it. sigh. I can tape it of course, but... taping's not the same as seeing it as it airs. I don't know. Best trick for skating tonight! yes! Bob Burnquist better be in it or I'll kill something >:O OLN's coverage is so fucking crappy, but I'll go more into after GG is over. They only showed 2/3 of Bob's runs x_x hate. quick update on the vert skate, Bob got 8th, Rune got 1st, not sure what Buckly got but it might've been 2nd or 3rd, though I don't think it was. Not positive. THere was some serious low scoring going on, though. Bob did a really good run and fell at the end and got an 83, and the commentators were saying "Wow, that's really low" so it's not just me being biased. Other people did worse and got better scores >:O I find it amusing that the person that was 1st after the first heat, on Wednesday night, ended up like 9th.

mmkay. more on that later this week >:O

Thursday, September 23, 2004

huh. I'm finding I play a lot better when I just don't think about what I'm playing so much and just let my fingers do it. Chord Study #2 in Ab just went like... twice as fast as it had been going. hm.

course that'll never work on the actual chair test. I'll be panicking and freaking out so much that I'll overthink and then go woosh and die :)

at least I don't sound as horrible as I did a week ago on bass clarinet. I don't remember like... physically changing anything about how I was playing, but I guess it's just muscle memory. The more I play, the beter my mouth's muscles remember how to act. This happens to be very good.

I don't even really care. All I wanted was to be in wind ensemble, and I am. I couldn't be in symphony even if I was first or second because I'd have absolutely no way of getting there or getting home until around 9:15. Besides, I have enough to do as it is. And I don't really care about my chair either, since it's not like there are multiple parts for solos. Only reason I'm practicing so much is so I don't completely embarrass myself. As long as I play at a reasonable tempo without making too many mistakes, I don't care. I just don't want her to be thinking "...that was a horrid chair test. I'm not so sure she should be in wind ensemble anymore >:O".

So yes. You care.

Practice until 6:30, watch tape of X Games I taped from a day ago [and yes I do mean X Games, it repeated for 2 hours yesterday from 1pm-3pm and I taped it because I miss the X Games and there's like a 75% chance there'll be some form of skating on it], review molarity problems for science quiz [...I don't think I'm going to do very well on it. B would be satisfactory at this point], and then Gravity Games! eee looking forward to tonight. Bob Burnquist, Bucky Lasek, Sandro Dias, Pierre-Luc Gagnon, Rune Glifberg, Andy MacDonald geez. So many major names laksdfj can't wait! Even though I think I actually know who wins. stupid gravity games site x_x I went to check times or something Monday and they told me on the front page. But for all I know that was skate best trick. If they even have that, which I don't think I do, and the person I think won doesn't tend to do best trick, that I've seen. ;alksjdf ok this is longer than it should be.

One last thing. I've found while watching vert skate and even vert bmx that I really really want every single one of the skaters and bikers shoes x___x al;skdjf so nice >:O I want more shoes. I have like... 2 pairs [well 3, but 2 of them only count as half a pair because I never wear them]. Tiffany has like... 7 million [or like... 11]. >:O

mmkay. done. [practices]

shaping up to be a good day. >:O

Science: bah. Boring enough without being an 1 1/2 long. oh well. I don't hate it like I hated it last year or anything, it's just... boring. We... kind of did a lab, but... it wasn't really a lab. Science quiz tomorrow! Need to study. I'm getting a fucking A whether you like it or not >:O

Office Hours: Sectionals! It wasn't bad, actually. I don't really mind having them during office hours, I suppose. Got in a really good mood after the sectionals were over, during snack, which was nice. Don't even know what prompted it.

US History: wheee. Tests returned! I got 40/50 on the multiple choice, but that's just about as well as I expected to do on that part. I think I said I was unsure of about 5-10 and I missed 5 [they were 2 points each], so that's really not bad. Plus, listening around me, the only higher score on the multiple choice was a 21 [er out of 25]. And that was by a dude who's supposedly really really smart. Then the short answer! I got a 31/35, which is pretty good. Most people around me got between 30 and 32. Together, this is 71/80, which is an 89, which is really great. B+, just about where I expected. My grade in the class is a 91, but he grades on the curve and it's curved to a 96, so I really have a 95 in the class. wheee! :) Just need to keep doing well [well, need to do a little better. If I keep getting B's, my grade will drop a little]. Rest of class, we took notes.

Wind Ensemble: -_______- I am getting so sick of our show. It's not long like last year and it doesn't have a bunch of crazy different parts. Like... I don't know. It's just... blah.

uhhh oh oh

Gravity Games last night! Ok I found out what the confusion was. 'Cause at the beginning they were telling me the vert skate finals were tonight, but then a thing would pop up and say "Vert Skate finals and FMX finals tomorrow at 8/8:30 pm!" It was particularly amusing when that popped up when they were actually SHOWING the vert skate finals. But ok. So Gravity has like twice as many competitors as X Games each event [I prefer the X Games format, but whatever]. So for vert skate what they did was put 10 in one heat and 10 in a second heat. Last night they had the first heat. They performed all their runs and got their final scores. However, that doesn't mean shit until tonight. Tonight they have the second heat, consisting of all the major names [the only major names the first heat were Danny Mayer and Jake Brown, and... those aren't so major]. I find that really unfair, actually, because it screws over the guys in the first heat. They've done all they can but then the other competitors instantly know the scores to beat. I don't know. And it's like... two entirely different competitions almost. eh. I don't really like this format. 10 total would be better >:O

Oh, another thing. al;skfdj the highest score in the first heat was an 80.something. And it's not because the competitors were bad or anything. But my god, they have the freaking ramp outside. In Ohio. In September. It's not southern CA, folks. It's cold at night, and it's incredibly windy. And now, whenever any skater tries any sort of kickflip or... well, really anything at all, the board freaking flies away from their feet. How fair is that? I find that totally fucked up. The wind was really affecting the bike vert event last night as well. bah. They should move it inside, IMO. Then no one would be able to be all "a;lsfkdj I would've performed better except the wind freaking blew my board away!" geez. I'd be so fucking pissed if I were one of the competitors. man.

I so prefer the X Games. but whatever. I'll take what I can get.

I hate hate hate that the Gravity Games occur when school is in session. Besides the whole having a million pounds of hw a night and having to practice bass clarinet/tenor and such, school makes me dislike every day and be all "goddd can this week just be overrrr???" but then I remember the Gravity Games, and it's like wait nooo I don't want this week to end! The next thing like this I know about, excluding winter games because those are totally different, is the X Games, and that's next August and waaaaay too far away! And I bet I could find other events like GG and X-Games to watch, but the fact of the matter is that GG is the last event of the season, and even if there are more, they won't occur until at least spring. sigh. so instead of being all giddy and happy all week long, like I was with the X Games, I have to trudge through every day feeling like crap.

Well. At least it gives me something to look forward to.

No blogging yesterday. Did homework as soon as I came home and Gravity Files were on. And then... well I found out Monday that they actually have the Gravity games airing first at 5-8 and then a repeat from 8:30-11:30, even though when they ad it, they always have it from 8:30-11:30. So I chose to watch it then. Afterwards, I had half an hour in which I watched a Gravity Games top 11 countdown thing and then the Gravity Games again.

Not doing that today or for the rest of the days, most likely [I might when they have vert skate, though], because I found a flaw in this: I do like to watch this stuff multiple times, but not within a half hour of each other. And the first time I was doing hw and practicing while watching, and then the second time I was all "well I sort of saw this before" so it wasn't as interesting. Tonight I'm going to watch from 8:30-11:30 and tape it while I'm watching it, so if it's like whoaaa I must see that moment again! I can go back and watch. I'll see how this works, and if I like it better than what I did yesterday, I'll continue with that.

mmkay onto my day >:O

Block schedule! <333

French: We had an essay thing I already knew about which was really easy, but dude... I'm kind of concerned, since I finished in like 5 minutes and we were allotted like... 45. And some people went on to like... a second page. Most got at least 3/4-1 page. Mine was like... a little past a quarter o___o. I have no idea how they wrote that much. She only asked for an introduction sentence and then at least 3 reasons why their vacations were the same or different. I did that. geeeeez I guess if you did more than 3 reasons you would have it a little longer, but first, why bother? and second... geeeez I don't think the book explanation thing about it was that long even o____o people are crazy. uhhh my French was all correct so hopefully I'll get like... a B or whatever. ohhh and she said we have to talk to her during office hours about our CPR project and what we're going to do but she didn't tell us this beforehand so mine wasn't prepared today so I couldn't do it today, but tomorrow I have sectionals and so I can't do it then! >:O and we have to do it by Friday and we can't do it in class Friday so basically I'm screwed x_x I guess I could just miss the beginning of sectionals and explain it to Bentley. She doesn't like me like she likes like... Rosa... but she doesn't hate me so... I'm hoping it'll be all right x___x.

Office Hours: Went to band room, but no one was outside, so I went inside and did as much hw as I possibly could. Got through the science that is due tomorrow [my only hw due tomorrow], the French that I have due Friday [less work for tomorrow afternoon!], and tried to start writing my myth for English. I got an idea but it kind of fails and I don't think I'm going to do it. I might though.

English: People presented. She doesn't seem to be grading too hard. I think for props I'm just going to bring the stuffed animal version of whatever animals are in my myth or draw some scenes from it on paper. I don't want to have to bother buying popsicle sticks and finding someone to wave them around and such. uhhh then watched a movie we started yesterday. gahhh I don't want to have to answer questions on it x___x oooh summer reading quizzes back! I did surprisingly well :O! 88% on both. Nice. I thought I'd done really poorly on A Lesson Before Dying, but I guess I'm a good guesser :) wheeee. So that's good. Let's just hope my essay grade is around that area x_X [preferably above :)]

Algebra 2: uhhhhh. what did we do? went through a new lesson. Blah. Not much of anything. Almost done with my hw for Monday. Test Friday! ahhh! not really. It's an easy chapter :)

mmkay. sooo gonna take till around 5 catching up on LJ and such, then going to practice bass clarinet till around 6:30-7 [depending on how I'm doing; if I'm fucking up horribly, I'll probably go longer], then take a shower and blow dry my hair, and then 8:30 Gravity Games! wheee! <333 tonight there's some sort of skate vert stuff. Last night was Bike stunt dirt and skate street. I'll talk about that later. I probably won't have a chance till like... Sunday to, but I'll have a nice mega post on everything Sunday :) But yeah they said last night would be vert skate prelims and then bike park [I believe] in the commercials but last night was bike stunt dirt and skate street. The commercials for today are Skate Vert finals and bike vert [I believe]. I think they're screwed up and tonight is actually prelims of skate vert and then bike park. But in any case, there will be some form of skate vert tonight. ahhhhhhhh I love skate vert :) I'm not sure if I like skate vert or skate best trick better, but... vert is so classic and I'm so much more... adrenalized [that is so a word >:O] when watching it, so I think I like it a bit more. a;lksjflk wheeeeeee I'm so excited :DDD

mmkay. so. off to do what I said I'd do.

Monday, September 20, 2004

Ok, so X Games > Gravity Games, like completely and totally, but I already expected that. Gravity Games seems like it'll be awesome anyways, though.

Pre-Game show was fine. Interviewed awesome people such as Bob Burnquist [alkfj :D he kicks so much fucking ass, geez I found out about this other time at a past GG he fell and like twisted his foot/ankle and still went through with the rest of his run, and he was like hobbling off and everything, could barely walk a;lsdfj gah he rocks], Bucky Lasek [wheee!], Andy MacDonald [actually nothing new, just the interview from the Gravity Files show from back in August. They did that for most of the people, but there were some live people as well, including Bob Burnquist and Bucky Lasek], Ryan Nyquist, lksf I don't know. I think that was all my favorite favorites. No Dave Mirra, but I'm not too broken-hearted over that. I prefer Ryan Nyquist anyways, though Dave is always so fun to watch. I'm really concerned that Travis Pastrana won't be competing. Back in like... August when I checked it out it said he was one of the competitors, but that was like... 2 days after the whole X Games crash and concussion and I know he still went with a run the day after the fall and he should be better but... who knows. Maybe something happened? And I wouldn't be so like whoa over this, or thinking about this at all on my own, except A) they didn't interview him, and they interviewed directly the 1 or 2 of the top competitors of each event, and B) if they didn't do that, they showed a clip of an interview with them from the Gravity Files, and C) at the very least, if they didn't do any of that, they at least mentioned them when talking about the event and the great competitors and who to watch and stuff. They did not mention Travis, and it's not as if Travis is someone they can overlook. Like, sometimes [at least more recently] they don't mention Bob Burnquist, but they still interviewed him and showed a clip from Gravity Files and he's like a major competitor and they talk about him a little and so you know he'll be there. But Travis... they haven't said anything about him or shown anything that would indicate he's in it. They've talked about him in regards to past games, but not this one. al;skdfj he's my favorite FMX-er! >:O he has to be there! gahhh. Oh well, there'll still be Brian Deegan, but damn x_x plus, I was hoping Travis might try the double backflip. Doubt we'll be seeing that till the next X Games, though x__x

Tomorrow! Vert skate prelims in addition to a bunch of other events I didn't catch! Uhhh don't know how much commentary I'll be able to give on this [...not that anyone cares except Annie, but I like being able to look back on it months or even years later and being all "omfg I remember that!!!"] what with school and hw and chair test on Friday and all, but I'll try. Office hours is going to totally help with this, since tomorrow night all I have to do is French hw, math hw [both of which take me like... an hour combined, and that's when I'm distracted. Which... I usually am, but shhh], and English hw, and all I'll have in English is to write the myth thing [provided everyone's going Friday. If enough people volunteer for Wednesday, I can put it off to Wednesday/Thursday] and make little animal prop things and find someone to move the little prop things for me, which shouldn't be too hard [...I... hope...]. Then on Wednesday night, all I'll have to worry about is whatever small bit of science work I have and the science quiz [he assigned it for Wednesday, but we don't have 2nd on Wednesday, so I'm assuming it's on Thursday]. Ah Wednesdays are so nice. All I have Thursday is science, which I have little hw in usually, AP US, which I never have hw in and only will have to study for tests in, and band, which I'll be practicing all week for anyways and that won't really make a difference.]

Wow that paragraph is full of crap that absolutely no one cares about. Nice.

eeeeee I love X Games/Gravity Games type things :DDD ;asjdf vert skate! alsdkf;jk yesss. I've decided that's my favorite event, because no matter how cool FMX is and Vert Best Trick and all that, Vert Skate is just... like... it's like a classic, dude. And it has all the major names and it's just so like whoaaaa and I'm a lot more invested in it. Like, you could list all the competitors for vert skate, and I'd totally be able to tell you everything they did at X Games and their strengths and weaknesses and who I'm wanting to get gold but the other events... there are only a few like that for me, and I'm just like... whatever. I enjoy watching the event more.

I explain myself poorly.

Oh. And my next layout is so going to be X Games/Gravity Games orientated. Because I'm totally not obsessed enough with them already :) And will probably be vert skate focused. Because it's not as if I've already had a layout about that already.

shhhhh. leave me with my insane obsession liking-ful-a-lot-ness >:O. It makes me so much happier.

kasjf eeeeeeeeee GRAVITY GAMES TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well the actual events don't start till tomorrow, but there's some sort of thing tonight. A like... pre... thing I guess. Like the Olympics' opening ceremonies. ahhh I can't wait :DDD

Didn't blog this weekend because I didn't go online this weekend. I lay in my bed and read pretty much all weekend long, except Sunday afternoon when I did hw and Sunday night when I watched Charmed and Jack and Bobby.

So on to today!

French: uhhh. I dunno. Frenched it up >:O We have an essay type thing on Wednesday in French. Bah. What happened to nice French teachers who are insane and never assign anything at all x___X ooh that reminds me, on like Friday Candace, she's in my French [and like every other class I have], she was doing her French hw in history after the test we took, and Sorey was asking what hw it was and then she told him and he was all "Oh which teacher" and she told him and he was all "Oh yeah, I know her. That other teacher, though..." and Candace was all "De Berry?" and he was all "Yeah. She's weird." It was really amusing :) Apparently she was reading the paper once and then took out the sports section and handed it to Sorey randomly and was all "Here!" I find that amusing 'cause I'm cool like that :)

Science: went over stuff. lalala. Lab report due tomorrow, finished it yesterday. wheeeeee.

English: Went through that annotated myth. Fun -__-

History: Took notes. We don't get our quizzes back till Wednesday. bah.

Algebra 2: Got 20/22 which is an A-. Not bad. I made one horribly stupid mistake and divided 0.1 into 47 and got 4.7 x__x [this is why we should use calculators on tests. OK fine, that's not really an excuse since I should be able to divide 47 by 0.1 and not get 4.7. Shut up.] Went through homework and such as always.

Wind Ensemble: I shouldn't really bother. x_x Uh chair test Friday. If Andrew asks, tell him I'm not practicing at all :) Didn't practice tonight any, but I'm going to practice tomorrow and Wednesday and Thursday. I should have more time Wed. and Thur. because of BLOCK! ahhh glorious block schedule. How I love thee.

mmkay then when I got home from marching band, I did hw in front of the TV and watched OLN, the channel with Gravity Games, and they had countdown crap. Like "Top 11 Gold Medal Finishes" and "Top 11 Crashes" and... Top 11 Tricks I think. I came into that one at like 8, so I'm not sure. It included a bunch of skaters and BMXers and Moto Xers and Inliners I knew so it was fun :D ...probably shouldn't paid more attention to my hw than the shows, but shhhhhhh. I'm done, anyways, and the GG don't even start till 8:30 so I have plenty of time to catch up on a weekend's worth of LJ posts and such so you shut up >:O

mmkay. a;lskfdjk;lasjdf AHHH HALF AN HOUR.

ooh must remember to watch Everwood. wonder when the hell I'll have time to watch that x___x if the gravity games pre-thing is like crap, then I might watch Everwood instead. I shall see.

allrighty then! >:O

ooh I forgot to mention. When I was walking to English, all of a sudden Emma was all "There's a bee on your head." x___x I'm freaking terrified of bees. In 5th [5th? maybe 4th] grade, this bee landed on someone's drink or food and I was all "whatever" because I'd never been stung before and my mom always told me to just ignore it and it'd go away. And then the lunch supervisor flicked the bee off the food or drink or whatever and it landed on my thumb and decided to take out its anger on me. bee stings freaking hurt x___x well that, and I have an incredibly low tolerance for pain :) but I digress. So I'm terrified of bees :) And I was all like "...oh crap, what do I do?" because I couldn't like walk into class with a bee on my head, and the bee couldn't live on my head for the rest of it's life because eventually I'd have to lay my head down and then the bee would be angry and attack me and I was unsure about flicking it off because of past experiences with flicking and stinging. And I was just kind of [walk slowly, stop, walk slowly, stop] and this teacher [or some sort of faculty member] was kind of watching us and then there was this dude who was there too [not sure who it was now, but I remember recognizing him. I think he might be in band/orchestra or something] and all of a sudden I felt something at the back of my neck and I was all "AHHH!" but it didn't hurt, it was just pressure, and then the guy came from behind me and was all "It's gone." x____________x I was all "a;slfdkj thanks :)"

...ok no this wasn't terribly interesting. but it was like whoaaaa for me. Proud of myself for not panicking and running around in circles like a crazy person, though :)

ah I'm tired.

today was rather good :)

French: uhhh... not much. More Frenchiness.

Science: wow. We got our quizzes back from a few days ago. I somehow managed a 28/28. niiice. Let's hope this continues :) One more step along the way to getting an A in Tran >:O rest of the period uhhh went through chemistry crap. :)

English: Went through a short story and annotated it or whatever it's called. Thrilling.

US History: there were like.. two sections to the test and my row got the short answer section first [you didn't get them at the same time] and I was all "Oh crap" because... those sections usually take me awhile and this way I'd have to finish the section in time to do the multiple choice. But then, it turned out that the short answer was really easy. Only a few details I was unsure of. The multiple choice was actually a lot harder. More I wasn't sure on. I think I got between a B and an A-, which isn't too bad.

Algebra 2: Quiz wasn't bad. Only difficult part for me was the bottom section and only because I was unsure if a few of them were functions or not. Wasn't bad, though. The rest of math was like it usually is.

Wind Ensemble: fine. we played music. x____x

I want a new layout. Hm. Maybe sometime soon. Maybe Saturday, if we don't go to spectrum.

mmkay. I'm tired. x___x looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. ahhh.

Thursday, September 16, 2004

Wow. I am such a total idiot. AP US test tomorrow and I totally forgot my book at school :) No, I didn't even forget. I looked at the book, thought "No, I don't need that", right after thinking "Hm, unit test tomorrow [puts US notebook and binder in backpack] and left it in my locker. goddamnit! >:O idiot x___x I know the test is on what he lectures on, but sometimes my notes are.. bad. And reading the book is a good thing before tests x____x al;skdfjalksjf gaaaah! I guess I'll read it before school? I get there early enough as it is. I'd have like 1/2 an hour. I guess it'd be all right for a quick review. Hopefully my notes are good enough for tonight x____x

geez. I'm really, really stupid.

Mom: The cable box won't be working tonight but a guy is coming tomorrow to bring a new, better one. Oh, but you wouldn't be watching TV tonight, would you. You have a history test tomorrow.

My mother so does not know me.

ooooh ooooh but guy came and installed the cox cable TV on the TV in the family room this morning! yaaaaay! that means I can watch Gravity Games on OLN next week! That means I never have to steal my mom's TV ever again! yaaaaaay!

Well except for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, when I have to tape Everwood, Gilmore Girls, and The Mountain [it looks supremely stupid, but then so did The O.C. If it is stupid, at least I'll have a show to mock]. But besides then.

wheeeeee :D

French: dude in like the middle of French, some of the walls started shaking for a few minutes and then they stopped and then there was this sound of water gushing out somewhere. At first I was all "earthquake!" but... the ground wasn't moving. So... no. It was cool though :) Otherwise, French was blah.

Science: lab reports seem like death on a stick x___x gah. I need to remember to do it Sunday night, since I won't have time Monday what with my lesson. Oh and and Gravity Games start Monday >:O uhhh otherwise... did nothing much. I've noticed Tran says "ok" a lot in the middle and at the end of his sentences. It's like a teenager's "like" or "um". heh. I find it amusing. Well that, or he just bores me and I have to find other ways to amuse myself.

English: I kind of want my essay back so I can see what I got, but... I much more so don't want it back. Ignorance is bliss x_x uhh myth assignment sounds stupid. We've done that sort of thing -082390581987687135082-69 times before. If it was just writing, I would definitely want to do it by myself, but because we have to present... gah I'd rather present with someone else x_x I think what I'll end up doing is the "squirrel on a stick" as she said and have someone hold up the little puppety things behind the table and wiggle them around and such and I can just read the story. hm. Have to find someone to do that.

US History: uhhh test tomorrow x___X need to study. There will be a few short answer questions. gahhh. uhh today all we did was write an intro paragraph to a free response prompt. Mine... wasn't that great, but whatever. He's not grading them.

Algebra 2: Went over homework. Turned homework in. Took notes on new section. Same everyday >:O

Wind Ensemble: You know what? No. Today we did not play instruments. We went crazy aaaand uhhh... went out and played some football. So there.

Ok, I lied.

Wednesday, September 15, 2004

yessss it's overrrrrr

French: uhhh did French type stuff :) I don't know. We don't do much in French, and we don't have as many idiots as well did last year to say annoying stuff to make me rant about, and it's too early to remember anything about, and it's only the first week so if anyone is bound to be interesting during class [or annoying or whatever], it won't be for a few more weeks. Oh, we had another quiz. Woohoo.

Science: Quiz as well >:O Wasn't too bad. I think I did well. The last section... uhhhh I'm not so sure about. I think I may have fucked it up, but I was too lazy to check. Which is really stupid of me, but whatever. Rest of the period we started in on chemistry. ahhhh <333 I really want to be in HChem next year and AP Chem senior year. But I heard it was better to be in AP Bio and then AP Physics. eh. I prefer chemistry x_X

English: The Essay of Doom! Not really. Ended up getting the prompt I wanted, prompt 4, which didn't turn out to be a good thing, because apparently I didn't prepare for it very well. And by that point last night, I was like "ehhh work quotes are on these pages" and wrote them down, but since I got them from previous prompts, they were all focused to Francie taking on masculine roles or whatever. x__x I think [I hope] I did well enough for B, but by saying that I've jinxed myself, and I either got an A [unlikely] or a C [much more likely]. Somehow I ended up with 17 minutes to write my conclusion, but then I ended up scrambling to finish it. And I wasn't really wasting time either o_O And it's not long! so I don't know how that worked out. Oh well. Let's hope I did good.

History: You know what's not fun? Writing an essay all period and immediately [well ok like 15 min] after that, taking notes all period. Hand pain x____x Uhh yeah took notes. We have a unit test Friday that I'm not too concerned about. oh and we got our map tests back. Didn't miss anything :) wheeeee

Algebra 2: Played with graphing calculators a lot. That's... pretty much all I remember of the period. hm. We have a quiz on Friday. Not... worried very much about that, since it's on like functions and crap.

Wind Ensemble: should I even bother? it's like... "whooooooo" [noises of music playing].

mmkay. So glad the essay is done with. even though... we kind of have... a lot more to write this year. gah. I really hope I do all right, but... it's not as if I can change it now, so it's pointless worrying about. Besides, it's only 50 points.

Tuesday, September 14, 2004

I so do not want to do this.

Make tomorrow be over. >:O

dude. Last night, at like... 4 AMish, I woke up randomly, and then 10 seconds later, the power went off. And if you know me, you know it's really hard for me to get to sleep without music [or Loveline] and so... it was already going to be difficult for me to get to sleep, but in addition to that, Moon, my rabbit, who is in the next room over, started thumping because he was scared or whatever. x___x and he kept doing it too. For like... an hour or so. gahhhh. x____x it was awful. Then like 2 minutes before my mom came in to wake me up, the power came back on.

French: uhhh. did nothing. I'm like dead in French, so I don't remember much.

Science: Labbish stuff. Quiz tomorrow x_X I need to study. Well not too much. But I don't know all the measurement thingies [pico and tera and giga and whatever]. bah.

English: Took quizzes on the two summer reading books. I... don't think I did so well. I actually read them too! >:O ...it was just a few weeks ago and... I kind of forgot what happened. They're going to be averaged, so hopefully I was really lucky on one or something. At first it wasn't so hard, but then as it went on... ahhh. The quotes were what got me >:O I don't see how knowing who said what quote really tells that you know the book. I mean yeah, if you know who said everything, you do know the book insanely well, but... you can still know it really well even if you don't know who spoke every line. gah. Essay tomorrow! I can't wait till after third period :) I have such a horrible feeling about this essay x_X I reeeeally hope it's the fourth prompt. I'm betting it'll either be the third, fourth, or seventh prompt [...mostly because she said she had chosen 3 and I saw check marks by those 3 on her paper when she was talking yesterday] and I'm reaaally hoping we get fourth. But I bet we won't x_X I guess 3 and 7 aren't so bad, but... well I don't really like 3 [the pride one] 'cause... I can't tie it together very well [what the fuck is that refusing welfare passage they were talking about?! I don't remember it/can't find it anywhere >:O]. The strongest character one [prompt 7] wouldn't be too hard, really. But I still prefer 4th. ha, I bet I'll get like 2nd or 6th x_X

US: Map Test. Not too bad. I wasn't sure where the Hudson River was, but I think I was right. I might've got some points off in various parts, but I'm sure I got enough to get an A. Rest of the period we took notes. Not very surprising. Might have a test as early as Friday >:O The horror!

Algebra 2: Went over homework. Took notes. Played with graphing calculators. It's the same everyday [...well ok, so far. It's only been like 4 days]. It's one of my favorite classes, though, even with the redundancy. Go figure.

Wind Ensemble: Played music. There's never anything to say about band >:O I need to practice bass clarinet. I am planning on doing that tonight. First I'll study for science, then bass clarinet, then essay preparation.

uhhh I have a headache x_X goddamn you.

ooh ooh I did'nt have time last night:

Charmed Premiere!: geez. The credits are sooo fucking gorgeous. Like really. Best credits of Charmed ever. Soooo pretty >:O [wants to make some sort of layout out of credits] so beautiful! ahhh. Unfortunately, I think they spent all the time on the credits rather than actual plot lines and scripts. sigh. I've learned not to expect much from Charmed the past few seasons, but really. It's the season premiere, you could be at least a little more interesting for the season premiere. Even last years was better. I mean people hated that, but at least we got an amazing moment from Holly. And same with season 5. It was a crap premiere, but Holly gave an amazing performance and had a lot of really great moments. But geez, she didn't have anything this time, except maybe at the end with Leo, but that wasn't tear-up-worthy. It was like yawn-oh-hey-this-isn't-as-horrible-as-everything else, not that that's saying much. gah. x__x I'm really hoping for better the rest of the season, but... I shouldn't really get my hopes up. I'd read spoilers, but I've promised myself I'd go spoiler free [though earlier this summer I did read some, but that was before my spoiler free pledge]. I'll go into my spoiler free decision a little later. Because everyone cares, I'm sure. Like more than half of you even know what spoilers are >:O [...though it's not difficult to guess.] I guess that's it. oh no, wait. >:O Nick Lachey? NICK LACHEY?!?!?! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SMOKING?!?! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. HE CAN'T ACT. I MEAN, HE CAN'T SING, BUT HE'S ALREADY GETTING MONEY FOR THAT, SO WHY PAY HIM MORE TO ACT WHEN HE CAN'T?!?!?! Of course, I had known about this since like June, but my fucking GOD would you a;lskdjflkj GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. x____________X [kills everyone ever involved with Charmed, except that one cool lady, Connie something, who quit after season 2.]

Jack and Bobby: Premiered last night. New show. Decided to watch 'cause it looked kind of interesting. I still think it's kind of interesting. A part of me doesn't like it for like no reason whatsoever, but I'm still going to watch it. I think it's because I would've rather had Jack become president rather than Bobby, and I didn't like that Bobby and Courtney get married after Jack dies [DIES AHHH WHAT?! YOU CAN'T TELL ME THAT AND NOT TELL ME ANYTHING MORE?!?! oh and I keep accidentally typing Jackie whenever I type Jack x_x so if there's a random Jackie in this paragraph, you know who I'm talkingabout]. But it was pretty cool. I'd like to see where it's going. Plus, Greg Berlanti, of Everwood, is on the producing staff, so it shouldn't be too horrid, I would think.

Spoiler Free Thing No One Cares About: It mostly isn't because of not wanting to be spoiled, because I've been spoiled about shows since I could find spoilers. However, it is part of it. All before the O.C. season finale, I heard how AMAZING it was, and how it would take my breath away, and such. And I read some spoilers, but most turned out to be false, and I figured I really wasn't that spoiled anyways. And then I watched it, and it was like... good, but... that's it? I thought there was something HUGE supposed to happen >:o all this stuff had already been rumored/predicted by people in the spoiler thread, so when it happened, it wasn't that shocking. And that really ruined the finale for me. So, spoiler free. The other reason, and the main reason, is that I just don't have the time to read spoiler threads. They get updated too quickly, and I have so much more work now, that... it'd just be a lot easier if I didn't read them at all. And it's not really like I can check in every once and awhile, because there'll be past spoilers discussed and I'll have no clue what's going on and it'll just be a lot less of a hassle if I don't.

So there you go.

uhhh I should finish my science homework, study for map test tomorrow a little [though I know all the states and I know most, if not all, of the other features he's going to ask, so I don't really need to study that much]. And if I have enough time, I might read sparknotes for A Lesson Before Dying, because I read that one longer ago than any of the others and it's a little more hazy than Falling Leaves.

mmkay.

Wow. I've already semi-broken my French binder. That's gotta be a record--...no, wait. There was that horrid binder I got in 7th grade where the rings, the metal part inside the binder, fell out on the very first day of school. Yeah. That was a really crappy binder.

Monday's suck :) Marching band till 4:15, get home at 4:30, immediately start doing hw [well, after bloggin of course >:O I do have my priorities straight and all], eat dinner quickly at 5:30, race off at 6 to go to Tustin, tenor lesson until 7, race back home, arrive at 7:30, and try to finish the rest of my homework by 9:00 so I can watch Everwood [tonight's the season premiere!]. Then at 10, provided I'm done with my hw, I have one hour to catch up on LJ and relax and such. Yeah. I hate Mondays, by the way. Oh well, at least I don't have the ambassador project to deal with anymore. Last time I went through this, I always had some part of the ambassador project to do on Monday nights and just barely finished by 11. Although somehow I never learned from that, and continued to leave it until Monday instead of getting it out of the way on Sunday. Hm. Not very bright there, I suppose.

French: uhh did the French p.4 exercises before school just in case. They were due in a sense [we went through the answers in class] but they weren't actually like DUE. We didn't turn them in or anything. Oh, and did my interview with Galaxy which went fine. So yeah. Pretty uneventful.

Science: Uh... went through metric crap. Ahh I hate the metric system. I wish they had taught it to us when we were 3 instead of the stupid foot/mile/other crappy measurements thing >:O Then this wouldn't be as difficult to remember x_X Didn't do much. Oh, we did get a seating chart though. I suppose my seating chart could be worse. I sit diagonally behind Tiffany. I sit behind someone I don't know at all and in front of someone I only know from like "oh he went to my elementary school and my friend had a crush on him for like 2 years". Oh, and I sit to the right of Graham, which would've been a huuuuge deal when I was in 4th/5th grade, like Pranav huge, except even worse. But now it's like "Who cares?" because... it's been like... 5 years since that. Pranav sits relatively near me x_X gahhhhh.

English: ...somehow... before school, I took my English binder and I was all "Hm I have English 3rd, I need this" and put it in my backpack, then immediately afterwards I picked up my A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, thought "I need this in English," but then, somehow, thought, "Oh, but I won't need it until after snack" and placed it back in my locker. x___x wtf? geez. I have no clue how that happened. At least we weren't writing our essay or anything today. That would've sucked x_x Uhhh didn't do much. Went through 2 more prompts. I reeeally hope the prompt is not... like... 2 or 6. I can handle 1, 3, 4, and 7. I think. I hope. ahhh I'm worried about this essay x____x

History: Took notes entire period. I need to not take so many notes, because I filled up 3 pages of my notebook, and there's only 100 pages, so that'll only last me 30 days of notetaking, which is approximately 1 1/2 months of school, but probably a little more because of days off and non-lecture days and such. Still, I'd rather not go through a notebook every 2 months x_X

Algebra 2: uhhh homework going over, notes, bell go ring. Not much.

Wind Ensemble: Music. Woosh. uhhh nothing ever to say about band. We played music. uhhh chair test. I was all "grrr" because she had saxes Tuesday for tests and concert band's are going on Friday, but then I remembered all of a sudden I'm on bass clarinet for tests, and all clarinets go Friday. yaaaay :DDD I really need to start practicing, like a lot. But not tonight. 'Cause grr with the homework and such.

mmmmmmkaaaaay.

Finished homework! Well, except for registering for blackboard for science, but that's only because it requires Microsoft Word to open the instructions and mine doesn't work on this computer, so I'll just do it on my mom's computer after dinner. So yay :) my essay preparation is kind of... not so great, but I also have tomorrow night and Tuesday night to work on it. I'm hoping we go over it some in class tomorrow anyways, so I can add to some of the ones I had more trouble with. Heh, I'm so proud of myself though for mostly finishing before dinner. Last year I didn't even start until after dinner, for the most part. Though I bet my homework-doing will revert to that within a few weeks. Still. >:O

uhhh I have a tenor lesson tomorrow. I need to practice tonight x_X I don't think I'm going to practice bass clarinet tonight [yes yes I'm an idiot and so on]. I'll start practicing it again this week, though.

Went to office depot earlier to get book covers and notebooks >:O Saw Jackie. oh oh and I saw Mrs. Gee! How crazy! I would've said hi to her, but she was walking away in another direction and I didn't really feel like chasing after her.

ahhh can't wait till 8.

mmkay.
