It's a New Day

Lost: [...I'm too lazy to do TV rants in my LJ. I'm just going to do them here, even if no one cares about them.]
holy fuck, they actually killed Boone off. It seemed way too obvious to actually happen, which I suppose was part of the shock. It was well done, though. Another awesome episode. ...why do shows always kill off the pretty ones? [sigh]

Claire and her baby were too cute [...although was it just me, or were his eyes freakishly dark? Babies are all born with blue eyes, and Claire's eyes are rather light. It looked bizarre.], and so were Charlie and Claire together.

...ok so I have nothing left to say. wheeeee.

French: test stuff! went through multiple choice after everyone finished, and I somehow managed a 100. awesome. my grade was brought up to a 94.1 with more verb quizzes, and this should help also. and all my studying for this test took place in about 10 min before school! this is why french is awesome. ...though we didn't get to see what we got on listening comprehension, and she said she was going to scale the grades to a 20 [25 was the total possible], so... that's not looking very positive. ...but they'll be scaled! and I think I probably got between 18-20. So yes.

Office Hours: attempted to study for math, failed, and instead sat next to Cindy while Soan quizzed her about AP US crap from an AP US Princeton Review book thing. I actually found myself knowing the right answer for most of them, which I find positive. ...I'm still going to be totally screwed for the DBQ and essays, though. sigh.

English: presented our poem. It actually went a lot better than I thought it would :) awesome. ...that was kind of it. took all period.

Algebra 2: gah. I got so stuck on the test. I got stuck at the one with the k's and stuff, since I had no clue what they were asking. Then I realized you could easily just set the expression equal to 0, plug in 4 for x, and then solve for k. I wasted a lot of time staring at that question, though. I also wasted time on that one where you end up having 4 variables [a, b, c, and d] and they give you the four sets of coordinates and then you plug in the x-values for x and the y-values for y, so you'll get like... -14=8a+4b+2c+d or whatever. but instead of it being like that, i somehow kept the degrees, so it was 8a^3 + 4b^2 + 2c + d and I knew that looked wrong, but I forgot how to do it exactly, and then I ended up with b^2=-2, and it wasn't the sort of problem you'd have i's and such in there, and I kept getting myself really confused, before realizing that, duh, you don't keep the degree. agh. so I had about 20 min for the graphing calculator part, where I ended up getting stuck on the last problem! sigh. I finally figured it out like... 1 min after the bell rang, and I rushed to finish it. Luckily she was nice and didn't throw us all out immediately. And I believe I actually managed to get it right. awesome. blah. I'm nervous about this test now, though. It started off fine, but there were a few I was unsure of, and I never had the time to check my answers. sigh.

blah. I hate that there's the multiple choice part of the science test tomorrow x___x otherwise, i could just relax all afternoon. ack. screw the science test [...for now]. I'm not going to start studying. The Algebra 2 test totally exhausted me. I'm leaving that till later x____X

Tenor Teacher: What's a third?
Me: uh. it's like... when... there's a note... and the next is the third up from it? ...[frustrated] I know what it is, I just can't explain it!
Tenor Teacher: [keeps asking me and giving "hints" so I finally am able to explain it].
Me: ...[whatever] x____x
Tenor Teacher: See, I know you know what thirds are. I'm just trying to teach you how to articulate what they and other musical terms are. You shouldn't get so frustrated with yourself when you can't explain things like that.

...uh. actually, no. i was frustrated with you because you were pissing me off, because I clearly knew what they were and told you I couldn't explain it and you kept dragging it on. you clearly don't know me very well.

blah. Oh, and I like how like... 2 months ago I was doing a minor scale exercise in my book and he was all "Ok, what's a minor scale?" and I couldn't explain and then he went into something about it that was confusing, and then a week later Bentley/Austerman explained minor scales and how to form them, and then like a month later I had a different minor scale exercise and he was all "So, what's a minor scale?" and I rattled off what I was taught because they explained it in ways that made sense, and he was all "Wow, I must've gone over this with you!" And I was like "...no. I learned this in school. You have taught me NOTHING." ...minus the last part. I'm not mean to him to his face. Just behind his back.

I had a really awesome dream last night and I was totally going to blog about it, but now I've forgotten it -_____- rar. I hate it when that happens. I remember it being really amusing, too. blah.

...I should study. I'd rather kill time until the new episode of Veronica Mars at 9. :)

French: uh. stuff.

Science: test. let us not speak anymore of it.

English: er groups and analyzed poems. blah. i should probably think a little more about what I'm going to say, because I can explain it to other people, but... it involves a lot of stumbling over my words and such.

AP US: notes.

Algebra 2: quizzes back. blah, i thought i had done well, but I ended up getting a 70. x____x whatever. that's not even my worst quiz grade this year. I tend to care a lot more about tests than quizzes. quizzes are just like "screw it". and this quiz was the day after the concert, and we all know how well I do when I have quizzes/tests the day after a concert. sigh. I'll study a bunch for the test, and I'll be fine.

Wind Ensemble: music. rar.

ah, new Veronica Mars tonight! ...but not before a lesson. blah. x___x I actually did practice for once! ...but it was a week ago. sigh. Can't wait till 9 -_____-

hm. I'm writing my paragraph for English on Word, and it seems obscenely short. =/ It's not that bad, either. It just seems short. Perhaps I need to explain the different stuff I've been saying more -____- gah.

;alksfjd today is death.

French: ...uh. -_____- French-ish stuff.

Science: god I hate science. I hate Tran. a;lskjf blah. I am so screwed for tomorrow. x____X Also, I like how it's all "Ok, well, the mutliple choice is going to be from this 250 question review packet too, and not just the 8 question short answer, right?" and he's all "No, the multiple choice is from a review thing at Science Joy Wagon! I told you guys this Friday!" and we're all "...no. you did not." and he's all "Oh, I must have only told 1st period. Oh well!" Thank you, Mr. Tran. You're so very helpful. [dies]

English: uh. went over poem stuff we wrote a paragraph on last week. gah. i don't want to rewrite mine x___x i can't think of a thesis/topic sentence. I fail.

AP US: notes. oh, and multiple choice back x___x I got a 20/25. alsfkjd I really studied for this, too. blah. well, Richard said it was curved out of 24, but... that's not that much better. We will have to see how this affects my grade after we get the short answer back. Then I'll know what the curve is now. Plus, I have a feeling I did a hell of a lot better on that. I better have had. -___-

Algebra 2: homework. review. rar.

Wind Ensemble: uh, music-playingness. oh, and Nathan abused me a lot at the beginning of the period. >:O

I hate how it's all "god, I can't wait till I get back home, so I can... -_____- spend the rest of the afternoon doing my science project and studying for the science quiz tomorrow." sigh. x____x

This week is fucking cruel:
Tuesday: Science Free Response Test.
Wednesday: French Chapter 5 Test. Algebra 2 Chapter 8 Test.
Thursday: Science Multiple Choice Test.
Friday: English Harlem Renaissance Poetry Quiz.

4/6 classes I have tests in, and I don't think band should be included in that, so 4 out of 5! >:O!!! gah. I can't wait until Spring Break. -________-

you all suck. -________-

wheeee new layout at my icon journal. finally. x___x i had the Buffy from the end of Becoming Part 2 one for like a month, then I put up a Charlie/Claire one early January, and then the graphic stopped working because I did something stupid I didn't realize, and then I left the same ugly colors up until now. Like... 3 months. man. too long x____x

and made an icon post! wheee. very productive day, graphics-wise :)

ah! meme-type-thing time! :)

01. Post a list of 10 TV shows you watch
02. Have your friends list guess your favourite CHARACTER & PAIRING from each show
03. When guessed bold the line and write a sentence about why you like that character/ship.
04. Post in your own Livejournal/blog/whatever.

01. Veronica Mars Veronica/Logan, yes. Veronica, yes! Although Logan would be second. He's awesome too.
Veronica/Logan: I have no idea what this ship is so appealing. I love the tension and the banter between them. They're both such appealing characters to me separately, and so put them together, and it's like whoa.
Veronica: Ah, I just adore her. She's had so much shit happen the past year and a half, yet she's still so... in control. Plus, she can be really sweet at times [awww to the Veronica/Wallace (friendship!) sweetness during the last episode. I adore them together. ...just as nothing more but best friends.], and she's quite witty.
02. Arrested Development - well, favorite character should be easy for this >:O favorite character post! come on! you guys suck x____x I actually don't think I have a favorite pairing for this, though.
03. Buffy - Buffy/Angel. Well, pretty much. I've actually kind of been loving Willow/Oz just as much. But I prefer how the B/A pairing ended [a;lskfd Oz would never cheat on Willow >:O], so yes. Since when do I love Spike more than Willow? O__O;;; But yes to Oz.
Buffy/Angel: They're what made me fall in love with the show. They're why season 2 is my favorite season [...well, part of the reason]. They were just awesome together.
Oz: He was always so very amusing, and very sweet to Willow. I never believed he'd actually cheat on her. Blah. He was always my favorite [canon] Willow pairing. Too cute together.
04. Lost - Charlie/Claire, yes. Locke... hm. I actually hadn't decided who my favorite character on this was. Perhaps I should have before putting this up? The last episode made Locke my favorite temporarily, but before that I loved Claire most, probably. But I'll go with Locke, for now.
Locke: He's so intriguing, right now. How he regained use of his legs, how he lost use of his legs in the first place. His backstories have so far been my absolute favorite. A lot of the backstories I'll find boring or way too over the top, but his are just fabulous. Plus, the actor is really amazing.
Charlie/Claire: ah they're just so sweet together! Claire is [...well, usually] so sweet and carefree, and Charlie's always so protective of her. They're adorable together.
05. Gilmore Girls - ah yes, Luke/Lorelai is love. but lies on Rory. I actually hate her, these days. She was really sweet seasons 1 and 2, and I may have chosen her then [or she'd at least be in the running], but not anymore.
Luke/Lorelai: because... they're just too sweet together. I don't know. From day one is was clear that they would be forced on the viewer, but... it ended up really good. I don't know. I just love them together.
06. Everwood - psh. it's actually both Ephram/Amy and Ephram/Bright, since I can't really choose -____- but I'll go with Ephram/Amy since it's canon. Favorite character, anyone?
Ephram/Amy: I don't know. I just find it sweet. Season 1, Ephram fell for her, and now in season 3, they're finally together. I love moments like the end of that one episode early in the season where Amy told Ephram she loved him, then there was this long pause, and Ephram told her he loved her too. Too sweet. Other shows might have had him not say it back, or be all awkward after that, or something, but it was simply perfect. No unnecessary angst.
07. Charmed - Piper/Leo. Except on Charmed, I don't really care about the pairings. That's just kind of if I had to choose. And Piper is indeed my favorite character.
Piper/Leo: ...actually I don't care so much about pairings on Charmed. But I love Piper, and at one time, I found Piper and Leo to be really sweet together.
Piper: Dude, have you seen the other characters? I mean, with the exception of Chris, even if Piper wasn't totally awesome, she'd still be a hell of a lot better than anyone else. She is the sole, living, intelligent and sweet sister of the family. Plus, she's very snarky and bitchy :)
08. Angel - Lindsay, yes. Doyle/Cordelia was the other one. B/A I like, of course, but the other pairing I was referring to with Angel was actually Angel/Lindsay. hee. but I'll go with Doyle/Cordelia.
Lindsay: I don't know why I like him so much, but he's just awesome. Plus, he's really pretty.
Doyle/Cordelia: They were just really sweet together [...for the 5 seconds that they were together, and then Doyle was killed off x___x]. The banter between them was very amusing, as well.
09. Dawson's Creek - Pacey/Joey, yes. Pacey, yes!
Pacey/Joey: We were told that Dawson and Joey were soulmates and had the love of all time and blah, blah, blah, but Pacey/Joey really stole the show. Only reason I even wasted time watching it. They were always just so perfect together.
Pacey: By the end, I even hated Joey, but Pacey was still awesome. So sweet. So much better than Dawson. Ahhh.
10. The O.C. - Summer, Seth/Summer.
Summer: Started out being a bitch, but now she's my favorite character. I love the evolution she's gone through, and it's seemed really realistic, unlike Luke's, which was "Asshole one day, then kind the next, then goofy another day, then banging Marissa's mom another." She's totally sweet and too adorable for words.
Seth/Summer: ah, they're just lovely together. Too sweet and too awesome.

rar.

ahh! :DDD Alkaline Trio on the radio again! wheeee can't wait for their new CD! :DDD

My Chemical Romance/The Used/1000 Other bands!

It was at Long Beach Convention Center place, and we didn't end up getting there untill 4:30. Doors opened at 5:00. Line was huuuuge [...which isn't very surprising, considering the show was sold out]. It moved pretty well, though, and we got in around... actually, I have no idea when we got in. But it wasn't too bad of a line, really. Oh oh but I swear when we were kind of farther up in the line, Kevin Lyman walked in front of us, talking on a cellphone. It'd make sense that he'd be there, too, considering he like... founded Warped, and this is considered a sort of Winter Warped and was developed by him as well. But no one else was paying attention and he's not like... in a band so people wouldn't recognize him as easily, probably, so... I'm not 100% sure if it was him. But it looked like him. rar.

When we got in, A Static Lullaby has already started. I recognized the music immediately but didn't have any idea who they were [although I was betting that they were A Static Lullaby] until they started playing "The Shooting Star that Destroyed Us", which is the one song I actually know by them. I moshed during that set, dunno how far up I got. Not as far as usual, since we got in kind of late, and there were a lot of people.

After A Static Lullaby there was this band on this side stage. I couldn't see it from where I was [I was front center-ish], but it was like... main stage, then divider thing of speakers and crap, and then tiiiiny little stage to the left, and smaller bands would play 3 or 4 acoustic songs. It was set up really well, actually, because even if you didn't have any idea who the band was or like them that much, it was better than just standing there while set up for the next band was happening. For the earlier bands, it'd be like acoustic stage, and then the next band would be on like immediately. Towards the end it took more like 10-20 min, but it was still better than nothing.

After the acoustic band on the side [dunno who they were], Saosin came on. I stayed in for a few songs, but... the pit was a lot more awesome than the past few shows, meaning that there were many times that I could not breathe. I was also really exhausted physically and mentally, and so a lot of the time when I could've probably held my ground and not fallen, I was just like "Screw it, I'm tired of fighting" and let myself fall down, which ended up causing more trouble than it was worth. There was one time where there was like... one row of people fell down [...er... not the entire row from like... left side of the arena to right. just like... in that area], then another row with me in it fell on top of them, then 2 more fell on top of us. I felt really horrible for the people under my row. blah. This one guy held out his hand to help me up and i grabbed it, but it was really sweaty, so my grasp kept slipping x____x. I don't think I left after that one, I think I left after a different one. There was one time where like a whole mass of people fell, and then someone's arm was like... right in front of my neck and i was falling on it and it was pushing up, and so I really couldn't breathe at all. I'm pretty sure I left after that one. I was feeling really dizzing and faint and such. So yes. Oh, and after exiting the pit, I found that my watch was no longer on my wrist. x_____x I liked that watch. blah.

Uh, got something to drink and eat, then I explored the place a little. there was this long line of stands of various stuff, kind of like all the booths at Warped, and then at the end there was this room thing where people were roller skating. It was odd. After exploring for a little, I went back to the pit. I was going to stay on the outsides for awhile, but... that always fails. It's like... when I'm in the pit, sometimes I wonder why I like it, or if I even really do [I mean... many bruises and the feeling you can't breathe repeatedly? doesn't sound very enjoyable] and a lot of the time I'm like "GACK I HATE THIS I NEED TO LEAVE" but then... when I'm by the sides and not in the pit, it's just... I miss all the pushing and jumping. It sounds odd, but... it really is a lot of fun in there. So I ended up getting sucked back in there as Senses Fail was starting. They played a few songs I recognized, so it was a little more fun than the beginning of Saosin, whose music I had never heard before. And dude, you know what the best way to get to the front is? Try everything in your power not to get to the front. I wanted to stay on the left side, where I was, because the center is more pushing and more not-breathing, and I could see really well from where I was anyways [there was this one period of time during The Used where I could see the stage perfectly, and I was like... 3rd or 4th row? it was aaaawesome. I was around the same area, I think, for this time] but... people kept pushing me up front to the center. At one point I was like... 10th row, and then a minute later all of a sudden I could like touch the barrier. The crowd moved a lot [but... it was an awesome pit, and that's what awesome pits should be like]. ...anyways yes. Senses Fail was pretty good. I like them well enough, but not enough to start listening to their CDs more.

Oh, but you know what sucked about the pit the most? Like... the pit was a really good pit for the most part, except for the crowdsurfing. I don't mean the actual like... crowdsurfing itself, but the pit's response to it, I guess. The people in the pit wouldn't do anything. My head got bruised because people would keep landing on it, and I'd be like "Ok, that's fine" because I'm used to crowdsurfers, but then... they wouldn't move. And I'd have trouble breathing and no one would be fucking moving the crowdsurfers. It was awful. x____x The crowdsurfers would just like lie on top of people's heads for 10 seconds, which doesn't sound like a lot, but in a pit, that's like... eternity. gah. and it's really hard to help move people when they're on top of your head and you can't move your arms at all x___x

Anyways! Stayed in the pit for whatever acoustic band was after Senses Fail. Then Killswitch Engage came on. I didn't care for Killswitch Engage's music very much, since it's more... metal, I guess. I don't know. I was kind of more on the side for them. I stayed in the pit for their entire set, though. No clue why. I probably should've just left. But I stayed in for them, and also for the acoustic band after them, who happened to be My American Heart! awesome. I listened to some of their music on purevolume like a month ago and liked it. Of course, I didn't recognize any of the songs they played, but... it was still pretty cool.

After My American Heart was My Chemical Romance! wheee! I went further into the pit for them. It's a lot easier to handle all the shoving and falling when a band you love is playing. Like, I've never heard Saosin before and don't care about them, so... there wasn't much incentive to stay in the pit, and it just wasn't as fun. But with My Chemical Romance, I really love them, so... I went as crazy as everyone else. It was awesome :D They played Helena, Give 'em Hell Kid, To the End, You Know What they Do to Guys Like Us in Prison, I'm Not Okay (I Promise), Ghost of You, Thank You For the Venom [yay! seeing this live just made my love for this song even greater], and Cemetary Drive. I believe that's it. They had dancers! It was crazy. At first it was kind of odd, but it was pretty awesome, especially when they played Helena, the last song. I kept hoping Bert [lead singer of The Used] would jump on stage and make out with Gerard [lead singer of My Chemical Romance], but he didn't. But anyways, MCR performed really well. Glad I finally got to see them [...even though I've had two oppurtunities in the past year to see them but chose instead to wait for a band on another stage/sit on the grass (Concert for Compassion/Warped)].

I was thinking about staying in after MCR to wait for The Used, but... I've seen them like... 3 times before [...well 2 1/2, since Warped doesn't really count as a full show] and I was feeling dizzy again, so I left the pit and got something to drink once again. As I was paying, Tiffany appeared out of nowhere, and we stood around while she stole my drink from me and talked about the concert. After awhile we could hear that whatever acoustic band that was on had finished, and they were setting up for The Used, so we went back in.

The Used played The Taste of Ink, A Box Full of Sharp Objects, On My Own, Take it Away, I Caught Fire (In Your Eyes), All That I've Got, Listening, Sound Effects and Overdramatics, and I'm a Fake. I believe that's it. I was going to stay on the side for the Used, but... it was really boring there, so I made my way in a little. I ended up being on the side far enough that there wasn't too much pushing, but there was some jumping around and pushing [at least, at the beginning]. It was like middle of the first song they played, where I felt something cold on my back. I felt where it was cold and my shirt was slightly wet. I turned to see what it was, and this fucking bitch had a full cup of beer resting against my back. what the FUCK?! you don't bring BEER into the PIT! al;skfd water, yes. beer? no! >:O i tried to get away from her, but there were a bunch of people in front of me who were all like... linked together [i HATE people who try to stay together in the pit more than ANYTHING alksjfd;lkj gah! >:O alskdfjkj] so I really couldn't get away. About half of the fucking cup of beer spilled onto my back before I got fed up and "accidentally" elbowed the drink onto her shirt. well, hey: that's why you don't bring a cup of beer into the fucking pit. after that I was able to get in a little bit further. I fluctuated from 2nd row to like... 6th a bunch. I was again hoping for Gerard [lead singer of MCR] to pop up and kiss Bert [lead singer of The Used], but it did not happen.

After they finished their last song, they all got off stage, but everyone started shouting for one more song, and the lights stayed off and these blue lights on top of the stage kept flashing, and I was thinking "eh, maybe I should leave now so I beat the rush of people and get some merch and find Tiffany and such" but I ended up taking so long to think about it, and the lights were still doing the same thing, that I figured someone was going to happen and I had stayed in their so long, I might as well stick it out. And so after like... I don't know how long, but it was awhile, some lights started flashing, and both The Used and My Chemical Romance came on the stage. Bert and Gerard went up to the front and had their arms around each other and I think they might've said some stuff first? but yeah, then they turned to each other and totally started making out. [well, ok. It was more of a kiss than a complete make-out session, but I like how making out sounds, better.] then they hugged, and it was adorable. then they performed a song together, but I don't know which song it was. it was awesome, though. and definitely worth staying in the pit for :DDD

mm after that, the show as over. i tried to call Tiffany a bunch of times, but the service there was down. I moved around and finally found a place where it was working, but Tiffany's wasn't working, so I couldn't get ahold of her. Called my parents, then went in line to get some merch. super huge lines x____X Tiffany finally got ahold of me while I was in line. I ended up only getting a new red MCR shirt, even though I wanted an MCR hoodie, because the MCR hoodies sucked. I was also planning on getting The Used merch, but there were too many people, and I figured I should find Tiffany [because while we had managed to talk on the phone, I had no idea where she was, and she couldn't find me either]. Went outside, Tiffany was confusing about where she was [THERE WERE LIKE 01-8239298718723-095 METAL CAGE STRUCTURE THINGS! >:O] and then waited for my parents. and that is all.

ah. that was a fucking awesome concert. I think the Motion City Soundtrack concert from February was the best concert yet, but this was still aaawesome. :DDD wheeee! need more concerts >:O

rar. I am sore all over. >:O mm concert post in a sec.

French: uh went to MPR and there were three foreign exchange students and people asked them questions and such.

Science: uh. don't remember. some new worksheet. rar.

English: end of video, and then went over an essay someone wrote that got a 91. blah. if that's a 91, I'll be lucky to have a low B x____x

AP US: on the board when we went in there was this prompt about the Surpeme Court and assessing the validity of the statement for the period of 1800-1860 for like an essay and it said it would be due on Monday and... I believed it was real for like a second, but then I realized Mr. Sorey wasn't here, it wasn't in his writing, it was the wrong period of time, and we never write essays at home. But I was all "whatever, I'll do it anyways for practice. And for the 1% chance it is real" and the sub was all "oh, that was here when I got here this morning" and talked for awhile about something relating to that subject, and then was all "Oh, and you don't have an essay. 2nd period put that up as an April Fool's Joke, and I said I'd play along." ...yeah. it was pretty obvious. This one girl had been freaking out, though, and like... planned her whole weekend around writing the essay. It was sad. but yes. uh rest of the period, did nothing. blah.

Algebra 2: quiz! not too horribly bad. hopefully did well.

Wind Ensemble: music playing-ness. rar.

uh yes. concert next!
